Die VF Community
Das Konzept der Virtuellen Fabrik, welches erstmals von der Universität St. Gallen implementiert wurde, hat sich mittlerweile an in verschiedenen Regionen etabliert (siehe Abbildung). Diese regionalen Clusters sind jeweils unabhängige Netzwerke, welche sich aus nahe gelegenen Betrieben zusammensetzen. Die verschiedenen Cluster sind jeweils bestrebt ein individuelles Kompetenzenportfolio aufzubauen, um am Markt überdurchschnittliche Leistungen anzubieten.

Um die Funktionsweise von
kollaborativen Netzwerken zu verstehen, macht es Sinn, einen
Blick in die Organisation der Netzwerke zu werfen. Ausgehend von den regionalen Plattformen werden für jedes Projekt so genannte Virtuelle Organisationen gebildet. Diese durch einen Projektkoordinator geleiteten Geschäftsnetzwerke dienen der konkreten Auftragsabwicklung und integrieren die dazu notwendigen Partner. Zuoberst in diesem System steht die VIRTUELLE FABRIK AG, welche Aufträge als Broker akquiriert und anschliessend die Systemkoordination übernimmt.

The Virtual Factory is the prominent enterprise network for the optimal use of technical know-how.
The Virtual Factory accelerates the use of the information as a production factor. Thus the net yield of their customers comes from within and outside of the network.
The Virtual Factory makes ideas into marketable products. It takes over the total process from the idea to the product or indexing steps from this process.
The Virtual Factory offers all necessary structures and aids for the fast structuring of business systems. It offers the entrance to entrepreneur teams and organizes the financing.
The "Backbone" of the Virtual Factory is a coordinated organization and information infrastructure, this is an obligatory standard for all groups. Thus we bring knowledge and information in place – timelessly and purposefully to the application. Success in the market is realized by the activities of every individual partner of the Virtual Factory.
Forschungsprojekte

Die Virtuelle Fabrik AG ist derzeit in zwei europäischen Forschungsprojekten engagiert. Die beiden Projekte ECOLEAD und COLL-PLEXITY verfolgen ähnliche Ziele. Es wird angestrebt, die Leistungsfähigkeit und Agilität von europäischen KMUs zu erhöhen. Dies soll gefördert werden, indem Methoden und Tools entwickelt werden, welche es KMUs erleichtert Kooperationen einzugehen und diese zu managen.
Als Pionier von kollaborativen Netzwerken hoffen wir, unsere Erfahrungen sinnstiftend einbringen zu können, um anderen europäischen Netzwerken bei der Realisierung ihrer Vernetzungsprojekte zu helfen.
